Created by Nami Madhavlal, NamiSutra sets itself apart by offering a unique selection of handmade jewelry, heavily beaded luxurious handcrafted hand bags created by master craftsmen in India, as well as an online gallery of artwork by accomplished artists with an International flair and more!
Nami Madhavlal was born and raised in Mumbai formally Bombay, India until age 18. Nami’s absorbed attention with making a fashion statement started at a young age when she began designing clothes and accessories for herself with unique items such as mirrored tablecloths from her home. As a result of her creative talents Nami was constantly questioned by family, friends and inquiring minds as to the designer of her unique collection of personal pieces, hence complimented and commissioned to create for the affluent with discretionary income.Her passion for fashion grew even stronger when she arrived in the US to begin her studies and started visiting New York City every summer to shop at the trendy unique boutiques in Manhattan. There she constantly trained her keen eye for fashion to search for unique pieces, which included buying accessories used for store displays not intended for retail sale.
Beginning her education at Eckerd College in Florida, Nami Madhavlal transferred to Tulane University in New Orleans where she graduated with a double major, two degrees the first in Business Management and the second degree in Marketing. Upon her arrival she immediately fell in love with the immense artistic talents in New Orleans. Throughout her college years she had the opportunities to travel globally throughout the US, Europe, and Thailand always searching the world for the latest unique fashions.
Inspired by a 5000 year heritage of jewelry and craftsmanship from India, the artistic talents of artists in New Orleans and around the world as well as her love for her life in the US has lead to the creation of NamiSutra.
Since all items are carefully handcrafted, NamiSutra offers them in limited quantities. Items that are out of stock may be special ordered upon request.
